RAF 100 - Kevin Baldwin, Training Support Business Manager

Kevin started his 44-year RAF career at the young age of 16. He began as an airman working on ground radar and went on to have a successful full-time flying and staff career concluding with oversight of all RAF operational support to joint operations and a subsequent ongoing RAF Reserve role as an Air Commodore adjudicating Service Complaints. Staff appointments in the Electronic Warfare, Tactical Evaluation, Plans, Operations, the Joint Force Air Component Headquarters areas plus 2 years with the Army, were interspersed with 30 years being a Fast Jet Navigator, mainly on the Tornado GR1/4 Force (which he will see from its entry into service until its planned demise in 2019).   Postings, exercises, and operations have seen Kevin travel to 30+ countries with in excess of 10 years spent overseas.

Kevin’s two key outputs, within the Training Support (TS) team, are the provision of an Exercise Planning /Support Capability to Joint Warfare and providing Technical Support to the EU OHQ Op ATALANTA. His primary focus is the direction and management of these projects and other associated tasks. The TS team also have a wide remit to look for and support other tasks with recent outputs including exercise support to the HQ AIR Joint Force Air Component, and the provision of a Classified LAN to the HQ AIR Capability Team.
